The long awaited roof restoration project is now underway! This quintessential Shingle Style building by H.H. Richardson will have a new roof of treated red cedar shingles. As an extra precaution against damage from ice dams, Karle Packard of Red Hawk Studio Architects has designed lead-coated copper eaves and larger gutters. The contractors Almar Construction will also replace the roof and balustrade over the kitchen ell.
Many thanks to the Community Preservation Committee, the Waltham Historical Commission, the City Council and the Mayor for their support of this project.
